STAR OF THE WEEK

This is J's week to be Star of the Week at school.
He is super excited and we spent all weekend working on his
Star of the Week poster that will now hang on the door to his classroom for the rest of the week.
He got to stand up and tell everyone what each picture was and what it meant.
A lot of it was about when he came to live with us when he was 9 months old and when
we adopted him a year later. He did a great job telling his class all about it.
I'm so proud of my little Star!!!

So in Love...

I was taking J to school yesterday, and suddenly, he says to me
"Momma, you know I love you so much? Because we are
Christians!"
My heart just melted. He has been like this a lot lately.
Just wanting to be real close and cuddling up with his daddy and I.
I just LOVE being his Momma.
In other news, It's slowly been getting colder and now it's starting to snow. J couldn't be anymore excited. He saw on the news last night that Santa has arrived at the mall.
Oh my goodness, you would have thought that Christmas Eve was the next day
and that he had only hours, not weeks, to get to the mall and talk to the guy in the big red suit! He went crazy. Momma, Momma, Santa's back, He's at the mall. We've gotta go RIGHT NOW!!! What a funny boy. He's so silly sometimes.
I just can't seem to convince him that Christmas comes after Thanksgiving and that Santa will be here for another 5 weeks. He also over heard me talking to Daddy about getting up
Thanksgiving morning and watching the Maces Thanksgiving Day Parade.
He got so excited and started dancing all around, Wooten' and hollerin',
That it actually broke my heart to tell him that the parade was some 3000 miles away
and that the only way we would be watching it was on T.V.
I've never felt so horrible in all my life. It's like I just sucked the life right out of him.
One second he's the happiest kid in the world dancing all around,
The next, he's just a heartbroken little boy that has collapsed into a ball of disappointed grief
upon the very spot where he was only a second earlier, dancing joyously.
What a hard life. I almost cried myself.
What made things okay again? The promise of cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate while we watch the parade from 3000 miles away. Not the best solution he says, but it will do.
Oh how I Love That Boy!!!

Oh The Things Kids Say....

And then the parents forget!
I really should start carrying a pen and pad of paper with me. J has been saying some really funny things lately and when I sit down to blog about them later I can't remember what he said.
Now that Halloween is over, He is very excited for the Holidays to come. He keeps wanting to know how many days until my birthday. Once my birthday gets here it's only a few days til Thanksgiving. After that, it's the big one, Christmas!!
Our church is doing a Children's Christmas program this year and J decided he wanted to be in it. He is having such a great time learning all the songs and motions and will be part of the Children's Choir. He is also going to play a non-speaking part in the Nativity Scene as a
Shepard Boy along with his best buddy, Christian. He's really looking forward to it.
Other than that, not much else is going on. He wants it to snow a lot so he can play with Grandpa, but he will just have to learn some patience. LOL!!

Looking Back....Thanking God!

Today is me and Bobby's 7th anniversary. What an amazing 7 years it's been. When Bobby and I first met in the Summer of 2002, we were just two people who were coming out of two different difficult situations. Each trying to find our way back to God. Both of us praying that we would meet someone whom we could love AND who would love us back. Then, on a beautiful summer evening in June, we both went to the Wednesday night church service at Grand Junction First Assembly of God. Bobby was sitting there, waiting for me to walk in. I finally walked in and said to Bobby, He was sitting in MY seat and so I was going to sit by him. I really hoped he didn't mind. And so there we were, sitting through our first church service together. Who would have ever thought that just 4 short months later we would be standing there in that very church getting married. We are proof that when you let go and give GOD complete control of your life, He will bless you beyond your wildest expectations. I Love You so much Bobby. I thank God every day that He brought us together. Thank You for making me your wife 7 years ago today!
